Cappadocia, Caesarea. Gordian III. A.D. 238-244. AR drachm (17 mm, 3.32 g, 12 h). Regnal year 4 (A.D. 240/1). AV KAI M ANT ΓOPΔIANOC, laureate head of Gordian III right / MHTPO KAIC B N, view of Mt. Argaeus; pellet in left field; ЄT Δ in exergue. Cf. Bland 47 (obv. legend); Sydenham -. Toned. Extremely fine.

Bland (p. 298) shows that the pellets in the reverse field of Gordian's silver coinage from Caesarea signify the denomination, with two pellets found on didrachms and a single pellet on drachms.
